November 10 - Report Tips to Employer

If you are a tipped employee earning over $20 in October 2025, ensure you report these to your employer using IRS Form 4070 by November 10. This enables your employer to withhold the correct FICA and income taxes from your wages. If your usual wages can't cover these withholdings, the unpaid portions will be indicated on your W-2 under box 8, which you will need to settle when filing your annual tax return.

Remember, if a filing deadline lands on a weekend or federal holiday, it automatically rolls to the next business day that isn't a holiday. This small adjustment can make a big difference in your planning.
